DVD Fullscreen.

My Dad got weird and bought a movie we hadn't seen first. I loved it.

Widescreen is better. ;)

But that's cool that he got it. It's a keeper, if you ask me. ;D

Because for one, we get to see the movie in the dimensions that the director intended it to be seen. Formatting a movie to fit the fullscreen dimensions also messes up the composition of the shots, as well. That's why. I'm sure I could find more reasons, if you wanted them. ;)

Okay, but I hate those black letterboxes.

It's not like they add the letterboxes, to the DVD you buy. They're already there, in the theater, when you're watching the movie. It may just be that you don't notice them as much. ;)

Well a theatre-sized screen is large enough that it doesn't detract from the film. AND ever since Finding Nemo Disney has EXTENDED the frame for the fullscreen versions of all of their films.
